The Climate Science Foundation has been formed to advance innovation in climate science and demystify climate science to the general public and policymakers, providing a bridge between the scientific community and civil society. Our team consists of a unique blend of top scientists, innovators, and scientific communicators.
How many of us have read the 3,000+ page report of the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC)? Most people might know a few takeaways, but very little else. A closer look shows rich insights into our planet's history (paleoclimate), major planetary shifts, and likely future scenarios, with implications to arable lands, biodiversity, public health and disease, migration, ocean health, disasters, and the livability of areas for generations to come. Hundreds of scientists from 65 countries have spent their lives in earnest study to contribute to this body of knowledge, yet the information is not always communicated in a way for the general public to understand or for policymakers to interpret.
Furthermore, climate science is a field that is continually progressing with increasing complexity. We believe that Artificial Intelligence is a primary key in improving climate models, assessing the impact of our actions, and understanding the impact of climate to life. When innovative approaches meet with real-world applications, the result is a solution space that helps to lift people out of marginalization, poverty, and crisis.
We believe that the voices of diverse groups of people are critical to solving all global crises, and we strongly support the active participation of women and historically disadvantaged groups in turning science into solutions. At the Climate Science Foundation, we are passionate about science and its capacity to bring us insights that lead us to a wiser use of resources, a wiser utilization of technology, and a wiser way of life.
Experts from academia, nonprofit, government, and the private sector collaborate with the Climate Science Foundation to deliver on its mission.
